Where To Start
Welcome!
Whether you’re completely new to yoga or returning after a break, here’s how to find your way:
1. Choose a Class That Suits You
• Dynamic & energizing: Vinyasa Flow, Yoga HIIT
• Balanced & adaptable: Flow Gently, Legs, Bums & Tums, Supple Strength
• Mindful & inward-focused: Somatic Enquiry, Mindfulness
2. Know That All Bodies Are Welcome
• Every class is open to all experience levels, abilities, and backgrounds.
• If a class feels too easy, too strong, or just not right, let me know—I’ll suggest a better fit for your needs that day.
3. Support for Every Body
• Exercise-disability trained, older-adult and dementia-friendly, neurodiverse-friendly, and autism-aware.
• Whether you have visible or hidden disabilities, I’ll help adapt your practice to feel safe, supportive, and empowering.
4. Injuries, Illness, or Specific Needs
• Advanced anatomy training allows guidance for injuries, illness, or other specific needs.
• Discuss adaptations before class, or email me at emma@vortexyoga.co.uk.
• One-to-one or small group sessions are available if you prefer a private or bespoke practice.
5. Pregnancy Guidance
• Yoga is not recommended during the first trimester.
• After the first trimester, I can help adapt classes safely.
• While I do not offer pregnancy-specific classes, I can refer you to trusted pregnancy yoga classes to support your journey.
6. Getting Started
• Arrive with an open mind and your curiosity.
• Don’t worry about experience—everyone is welcome.
• I’ll help you find a practice that feels just right for you.
I can’t wait to welcome you to the mat and help you begin your yoga journey.
With love,
Emma
